AKALA – RICHMIX, 19th JUNE

Akala and guests at RichMix, Friday 19th June 2015

Booking: www.richmix.org.uk/whats-on/event/akala-guests-for-celebrating-sanctuary-london-2015

Akala has an eminent reputation, as a renowned MOBO award winning MC on the UK hip hop scene – but also as the founder of the Hip Hop Shakespeare Company which bridges together the themes and prose of Shakespeare with hip hop in education workshops for young people.

Akala

Pushing radical politics, poetry, social awareness and activism to the fore, Akala is a modern day chronicler of the global struggle for equality. He weaves the history of Imperialism, race and poverty, immigration and social conditioning, shady politicians and the power of modern corporations. And when we talk about racism in our society we touch on everyday racism that affects those people who have arrived here to seek sanctuary.
